Financial Assistance

NUST is visualized to be a model institution of higher learning, therefore, it is essential that the brightest talent of the nation is attracted, even if they are financially handicapped especially from the backward areas. Furthermore, financial incentives for the high achievers would also help maintain their performance level. NUST gives financial assistance to about 25% of students on performance/need basis, to the extent of 15 to 75 percent of their tuition fees, within the limit of 15% of funds generated through tuition fees, deferred payment (Qarz-e-Hasna) etc. as per following details:-

  • Students who secure top position in each discipline in the NUST admission merit will not be required to pay any tuition fee during 1st semester on joining that discipline. Remaining students in each discipline will be given financial assistance worked out as per their merit for 1st semester/term in that discipline on joining
  • Any student who maintains a GPA of 3.5 and above out of 4.0 in subsequent semesters/term will continue to get financial assistance in each semester within the range of 15-75% of tuition fee
  • Those needy students who can not pay the fees will be allowed deferred payment on case to case bases and will be awarded degree after the payment of balance amount. Minimum 50% of fee should be paid in each semester and remaining 50% of the amount will be cleared before award of degree

Some philanthropist organizations have agreed to provide scholarships to needy students studying in NUST. Such students will be informed on how to apply once they are selected by NUST.

Students may also apply on their own for any other scholarship such as those offered by Infaq Foundation, UGC, Quaid-e-Azam Scholarship and by Ministry of Education / Science and Technology etc. Further details are available with the colleges.

*Rector NUST has the authority to approve or reject financial assistance to any candidate.
