Emergence of the NUST Institute of Management Sciences
Eligibility Criteria for Admissions
  • BBA (Hon) Programme

Intermediate or equivalent qualification (Overseas School Certificate/ British General Certificate of Education (advance level)/ International Baccalaureate Certificate).

A minimum of 60% aggregate marks each, in Matric and intermediate (excluding NCC marks) / equivalent exams.

  • MBA Programme

BBA / BE / BSc / BA / B.Com / MBBS / BDS or an equivalent qualification duly recognized by PEC / HEC / PM&DC (as applicable) with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.00 or 1st Division (60% marks). The percentage will only be valid, if CGPA is not mentioned in the Bachelor's degree or academic transcript. No third division and only one 2nd division throughout the academic career (less terminal degree) is allowed. Preference will be given to the applicants with 151/2 years of education.
Candidates who have appeared as private student in their Bachelors are not eligible to apply for admission.

  • EMBA Programme

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a managerial/ executive position

  • Four years bachelors (Economics, Commerce, Communications, English, Maths-Stats /Bachelor of Engineering) or

  • MPA/M.Com/MA(Economics/Sociology/ English)/MSc (Maths/Stats) or an equivalent qualification duly recognized by HEC with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.00 or 1st Division

  • No third division and only one 2nd division throughout the academic career (less terminal degree) is allowed.

  • PhD Programme

The candidate must have a minimum of 70% marks or CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 in the following degree programmes/ professional examination:

  • MBA / MPA / MBE /MBA-IT/ equivalent degree
  • ACA /ACMA equivalent professional qualification
  • Master in Social Sciences with at least two years professional experience in business management with a reputable national or international organization
  • Master in Engineering or Medical Sciences with at least two years of professional experience with a reputable national or international organization
  • Master in Law with at least two years experience of professional experience with a reputable national or international organization
  • GMAT or local GRE (General) type test conducted by NUST / HEC with high scores

    Entrance Examination  (Management Sciences)

  •  BBA (Hon) Programme

For BBA (Hon) programme, computerized entrance test will be held under the arrangement of HQ NUST. The test will be similar in scope and content to that of GMAT.

The weightage of each portion of the test is given below :-

 Quantitative  (Mathematics)                -      40%

 Communication Skills (English)           -     40%
 Intelligence Test                                 -     20%

The performance of candidates in these tests will assist the Admission Office in preparation of final merit list. Final list of BBA (Hon) will be prepared by assigning following weightages:

Matric                       -        05%
FSc                          -        10%

Interview                    -        15%

NUST entrance test    -        70%
  • MBA Programme

All applicants for admission in postgraduate programmes in Management Sciences will be required to undergo a NUST Entrance Examination on the pattern of GRE (General) or appear in GMAT test conducted by ETS Princeton, USA.

The weightage of each subject is given below:

 Quantitative                                    -      40%

 Verbal                                            -      40%
 Analytical Writing                            -      20%

Final list of MBA will be prepared by assigning following weightages:

GMAT / NUST Entrance Test                       -        70%
Intermediate / A Levels                                -        10%

Interview                                                     -        15%
